... Hermione Granger is one of the most dedicated students I have ever had the pleasure to teach. She shows great adaptability and has impeccable erudition. I am certain she will make a formidable addition to the institution.
Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Senior Member of the International Council of Witches
Minerva smiled when she thought about how ecstatic Miss Granger would be when she received an offer from the Council. An opportunity to study rare fields of magic, to experience different cultures and to further the cause of equality were most likely a dream come true for her. And Minerva didn't doubt that she would receive an invitation.
Apart from the recommendation from herself, she had included some of Miss Granger's essays, report cards and had included a draft of her work in S.P.E.W. The Council would probably be extremely anxious to welcome her into their ranks.
The chair creaked when Minerva leaned back in it, contemplating the stacks of parchments in front of her and absent-mindedly taking a sip from her firewhiskey. She knew she needed to finish the third year essays on metal transfiguration, but still found her mind lost in its thoughts.
The training with the Council witches would lead Miss Granger abroad for at least three years, most likely more. And really, it was quite a shame that she had just started the relationship with Harry Potter. Men were not allowed as members of the Council or even residents on the Council areas. It was tragic how such young love was doomed right from the beginning when it had endured such harsh times as the war with Voldemort.
However, it was time to move on. And one thing Minerva McGonagall was sure about was that Miss Granger would not reject such an offer. And if Harry Potter happened to become single again in the process… well, she certainly wasn't averse to the idea.
With a small smile, she replaced the glass on her desk and pulled out a fresh parchment.
Dear Mr. Potter,
After careful consideration with the Headmaster, it is my pleasure to offer you the position of Quidditch Coach...
